What about a sample comparison?

Our sales advisors are trained to accurately provide a sample comparison to help your decision making process.


How long does the approval process take?

Processing time is approximately 24 hours or less after all necessary application information is received. Once approved, we will notify you immediately and deliver your terminal equipment or software.


What kind of businesses do you accept?

We accept most retail, professional, trade show, mail order, telephone order, internet-based, and home-based businesses. We don’t accept adult related businesses.

Do I need a business license?

Requirements vary according the level of risk associated with your business. A business license is one type of item that satisfies the premise inspection requirement, but if you have different acceptable documentation item for this requirement, that would suffice.


Do I need a business checking account?

Yes, if you are a corporation. If you are a sole proprietorship, you may use either your business or personal checking account.


What if I have less than perfect credit?

Technically, your personal credit score does not affect your merchant account rates, but if you have a low credit score there is the possibility that you may not be eligible.

What credit cards will I be able to accept?

You will be set up to accept Mastercard® Visa® and bank ATM debit cards. You can apply for American Express® and Discover® at the same time.


Do I need to have an American Express or Discover account before I apply?

No you do not.


My website isn’t ready. Can I still qualify for an account?

Yes, we can accept temporary websites, even if they are not live to the public. Your site can be very basic, as long as it stipulates what you are selling and for how much.

Can I use a smartphone or tablet to process credit cards?

PayTech Trust offers processing solutions that lets businesses of any size accept payments with a tablet or smartphone. You can consolidate all of your payment acceptance — cash, checks, credit and debit — in one system that processes transactions through a single gateway, giving you real-time access to all of your payments from any location – in-store, online, or mobile. Inventory information can be added to the system directly at the point-of-sale, and you control which of your employees use the system and what functions are available to them. Updates and upgrades are self-directed from our easy application, and require no special technician or IT assistance.

How will I get my money?

In a card payment transaction, PayTech Trust receives authorization and passes it along to you, so that you can complete the sale and issue a receipt to the cardholder. The card issuer bills the cardholder’s account and pays PayTech Trust, who deposits the transaction proceeds into your bank account the next day, though this may take a bit longer for high risk businesses.

Will I receive a statement?

Yes. Every month, by mail and/or email, you will receive a statement that details all your payment information for the month, including deposits into your account, your total sales volume, and the charges for the month. You can also access this information online for real-time, up-to-date information.


What is the discount rate?

The discount rate is your fee for all the processing services that enable you to accept bankcards as payment. Our discount rates are extremely competitive.

What is the Address Verification System?

If you sell via mail order, telephone order, or the internet, you don’t want to send a product to a false address and have a risk of receiving a chargeback. The Address Verification System (AVS) lets you enter the customer’s home address and compares it to the address on file with their credit card company. If someone uses a stolen card, and wants products shipped to a false address, AVS will detect this for you.
